In February of 2020, I spent two weeks at the Chateau Orquevaux Artist Residency in Orquevaux, France. In an attempt to push myself creatively and elevate my previous explorations of artistic expression, I challenged myself to singularly write, shoot, and edit a short film over the course of the 14 days. The result, in its raw form, is the above work, titled In the Land of Blood and Honey. My main objectives in the making of this film were to tell a story largely free from spoken word and dialogue and utilize space and composition.
